Articulation is the ability to flex
(or bend) the distal tip of a
fiberscope by rotating the control
knob located on the body of the
scope. Articulation is required
when a fiberscope is inserted
through a small opening into a
large cavity. The tip of the scope
must be able to bend to allow
complete viewing coverage of the
cavity interior. |
